In Kuusamo there are 14 groundwater pumpstations that pump this fresh water up to the ground. From the stations the water is pumped onwards the water supply networks and onward to the clients. Water that comes out of tap is pure groundwater, nothing added or removed. Pure water straight from the tap. Quality of water is constantly supervised  by the Finnish Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment which tests the water on regurlar basis.

So why drink bottled water when we have something even better? No additives are added to the water and no ingredients are removed, Kuusamon Kirkas is just pure, clean water. 600 kilometres of water supply network and 14 pumping stations make sure that we have this natures fresh resource available every day of the year.

In Finland in general the tap water has been found to be significantly cleaner than bottled water. A research by the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) has shown that bottled water may have up to 100 times more microbes than tap water. Tap water fulfills both Finnish and the European Union requirements and recommendations for the quality of drinking water (Decree of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health). So let’s drink!
